This is the piece I made at Mehmet's class in February.
The design is a belt buckle from 9th century Hungary . We used Turkish merino, and muslin fabric between the layers.
My piece has natural colors except for the border.













This is an orchid that Theresa started at that same workshop and I finished it ( she was way too busy to work on it) with whatever leftover I found after the students were gone....it would have been a waste to throw all that wet wool out!!
The white muslin shows up really nice on this piece.

Upcoming felting classes

At the Princeton YWCA on April 6th, from 10 am to 3 pm we will be making silk and wool scarves. From ages 12 and up. Suitable for beginners, too. Bring a bag lunch.

Workshop with Turkish feltmaker, Mehmet Girgic

We had a great class w/ Mehmet on 2/16, here in Princeton.

We made a small rug/picture with vegetable dyed Turkish merino wool. Everybody had a great time!


It was not just any felting class but we had some exercise as well. Rolling even a small felt like this requiers a lot of muscle power!

A small rug that was made for Brigi's 50th by Veronika, Ildi , Szilvi and myself. A real teamwork! Do you think she will like it?

Here are some new creations from my fiber studio (...yet to be built!) Felted Hungarian Honey Cakes or "Mézeskalácsok" for the International Felt Ornament Exchange. Yummm!
